PALOS VERDES PENINSULA

My motive for painting Palos Verdes is really about a deep love for this place. While a lot of it has changed since I was a boy, the spirit remains. I often told my kids that growing up there was like something from the pages of a Mark Twain novel. Still very rural in those days, there were plenty of places to explore and things to inspire the imagination. Our childhood experiences contribute significantly to who we become as an adult. They are the foundation upon which our core beliefs are established. Lunada Bay and the Palos Verdes Peninsula have been deeply ingrained in everyone who grew up there and the memories of the sea, hills, horses, and open space still inspire my work today.
